2007 Maxwell Winner - The Connection Fund: Legion Woods

Overview:
The case managers and property managers at The Connection Fund’s Legion Woods complex share the same goal: helping tenants maintain their housing. The property managers agreed to work with case management from the beginning to provide a focused approach to the typical issues that often get tenants evicted. Legion Woods is a place of residence more than a program – and that’s one of the keys to its success. The residents are afforded the dignity, respect, and independence that we all seek in our homes. When the buildings for Legion Woods were purchased, they had been boarded and abandoned for more ten years and were falling apart –a highly visible eyesore in New Haven. The buildings were completely restored with architecturally bold and dramatic exteriors.
