Groups representing state housing agencies and state mental health agencies have agreed in a Memorandum of Understanding to work together “to strengthen their common efforts to promote, facilitate, and support the provision of affordable permanent housing for low- and extremely-low income persons with mental illness and disabilities (“Supportive Housing”).”

The National Council of State Housing Agencies and the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors will share information with state agencies, develop materials, advance federal legislative and regulatory priorities, and raise awareness of supportive housing. Each organization is devoting staff time to achieving those goals.
